IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals redeems top position after defeating Punjab Kings by seven wickets

Delhi Capitals eased past PBKS in the 29th match of the 2021 India Premier League. The victory against PBKS propelled Delhi to the top of the points table, where they now have six wins out of eight games.

They will  play KKR next on 8th May at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB and CSK both have a game in hand, if they win, then they draw level with DC on points.

RCB will play KKR on Monday, 3rd May. Currently, they have a negative run rate of -0.171, so it wouldn’t be possible for them too get past DC. DC have a run rate of +0.547. However, they can move to the same number of points with 6 matches to go.

Meanwhile, CSK will play against RR next on 5th may, at Arun Jaitley Stadium. If CSK win that game, they’ll move on top of the table with 12 points. They already have a very good run rate of +1.263.

The fight for top spot is heating up as matches progress. It’ll be interesting to see the standings at the end of the season. On the other hand, the battle for the 4th spot is engaging as RR and MI seem to push for the play-offs.
