Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by 4 wickets to register the second-highest chase in the IPL history

Mumbai Indians completed an extraordinary chase of 218 runs against Chennai Super Kings in the 27th match of the season. Chennai Super Kings made a gigantic target of 218 runs in their 20 overs, thanks to the important knocks of Faf du Plessis, (50 in 28) and Moeen Ali (58 in 36). Ambati Rayudu played an explosive inning of 72 runs in 27 balls that included four biggies and seven fours in the death overs to drive CSK to the huge total.

Quinton de Kock (38) and Rohit Sharma (35) gave Mumbai Indians a strong start but after their dismissal, they looked a little out of the track, but  Krunal Pandya played a sensible knock while Pollard on the other hand played a mind-boggling inning that helped the Mumbai Indians register a last-over win.

Kieron Pollard scored 87 runs in just 34 balls that included six fours and eight maximum proving to be the best individual score in his IPL career. His knock turned the tables for the MI as they have been struggling to perform well this season in the batting department.

Faf du Plessis dropped Pollard on 68 which cost CSK the defeat. However, CSK still Stand top on the points table with an excellent net run-rate while Mumbai Indians gained another crucial point in the run. Mumbai Indians will face Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the tournament at the same venue on 4th May, Tuesday.
