Rishabh Pant scored his first IPL fifty as captain in just his second game as captain against Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Pant came into bat when his side was in trouble at 16-2 in the 4th over, he kept his came and took his time to build a little bit of partnership with Delhi mate Lalit Yadav. He took the charge as the spinners came along and hit Rahul Tewatia for 20 runs in one over. He hit a hattrick of fours on the way.
He brought up his fifty in just 30 balls hitting the cut shot for four through the point region. He got out in the next over trying to steal a run off the ball of Riyan Parag, he pushed the ball through to the onside and took off Parag reached the ball quickly, turned around, and hit the stumps on a direct hit, Pant was way short of his crease and his innings ended at 51 of 32 deliveries to give his side some runs to fight for.
