IPL 2021: Sunrisers Hyderabad breaks the losing streak to claim their first win in IPL 2021

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a rough start to the tournament losing three comprehensive games. This is considered to be one of the worst starts SRH ever had in the history of IPL.

However, the losing streak has finally been broken. Sunrisers claim their first win of the season after massively defeating Punjab Kings by 9 wickets. Sunrisers bowling attack restricted Punjab for a low total of 120 in the first 20 overs. It was the young lads Abhishek Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed, who did the job for the Hyderabad. While Abhishek took 2 wickets, Khaleel fired 3 wickets. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan and Siddharth Kaul contributed with one wicket each.

Moreover, Sunrisers opening pair David Warner and Jonny Bairstow made sure the job is completed then and there. While Warner was dismissed by Fabian Allen for 37, Bairstow made sure he finishes things off with a promising knock of 63 off 56 balls including 3 fours and 3 sixes. Kane Williamson contributed in the remaining few runs by scoring 16 of 19 balls.

However, the swift victory for SRH not only helped them get their first win of the season but also promoted them from the last spot to the fifth in the points table of the IPL 2021.
