Jabalpur to Hyderabad Indigo flight 6E 7308 diverts direction to Nagpur due to Bomb Threat

A bomb threat caused Indigo flight 6E 7308, which was scheduled to depart Jabalpur for Hyderabad, to change its route to Nagpur on Sunday. According to a statement from the airline, the aeroplane landed safely, and all passengers disembarked while the required security checks were started right away.

Indigo apologized for the inconvenience caused to the passengers. “Passengers were provided with assistance and refreshments, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience,” the airline said.

Despite a thorough search of the aircraft and all of the passenger luggage by the authorities, no explosive device was discovered. Concerns have been raised by the occurrence regarding the increasing number of hoax bomb threats, which have recently targeted public places such as airports.

Just last month, on June 18, 41 airports in India, including Jaipur, Chennai, and Varanasi, received bomb threats by email, prompting rigorous anti-sabotage procedures that delayed operations for several hours. All of the threats were eventually found fake.

Hoax bomb threats cause severe disruptions to airline schedules and impose stringent security requirements on passengers and crew. To counteract this rising problem, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has recommended a five-year flight ban for anyone found guilty of making such threats. Passengers on Indigo aircraft 6E 7308 were permitted to resume their journey once security clearance was granted.
