Jamie Lee Curtis became visibly emotional while discussing the devastating wildfires affecting Los Angeles during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The actress was initially overwhelmed with gratitude after receiving a warm welcome from the audience, but as she began speaking about the wildfires, she choked up.
Curtis, tearful and concerned, revealed that the Pacific Palisades, where she lives, was completely engulfed in flames. She shared, “I’m literally just about to cry, mostly because of that beautiful welcome,” before adding, “As you know, where I live is on fire right now. Literally, the entire city of Pacific Palisades is burning.”
The Freaky Friday star explained that she had flown out of Southern California the night before the fires broke out. On her flight to New York, she started receiving texts about the rapidly escalating situation in her hometown. “This is literally where I live. Everything—the market I shop in, the schools my kids go to. Friends—many, many, many, many, many friends have now lost their homes. It’s a really awful situation,” she said.
Previously, Curtis had shared her concerns on Instagram, urging her followers to be aware of the alarming fire situation.
