Jennifer Garner recently opened up about a friend who she had lost in the Los Angeles wildfire

Jennifer Garner has joined the ranks of celebrities offering their support to those affected by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, but her contribution was especially emotional. On January 10, 2025, the 13 Going on 30 actress appeared alongside World Central Kitchen’s Chef José Andrés, volunteering at a pop-up location in Los Angeles County to feed evacuees from the Palisades and Eaton fires.

In an emotional interview with MSNBC, Garner tearfully revealed that she had lost a close friend to the wildfire. Her voice breaking, she shared, “I did lose a friend, and for our church, it’s really tender, so I don’t feel like we should talk about it yet.” While she didn’t go into further details about her loss, her heartfelt words highlighted the deep emotional toll the disaster has taken on her and many others.

Garner expressed her heartbreak for the thousands of families affected by the disaster, saying, “I can think of 100 families, and there are 5,000 homes lost. I can—without even [thinking] — I could just write out a list of 100 friends who lost their homes.” The actress also praised Chef José Andrés for his tireless efforts to provide food and relief to those in need, reflecting her admiration for his work with World Central Kitchen in such a challenging time.

Despite the personal sorrow she felt, Garner’s actions reflect her commitment to helping the community during this difficult period, proving that even in times of loss, she is determined to give back and support those affected.
