Kate Beckinsale has had enough of online trolls commenting on her body weight, especially toward the end of last year. After a user commented on her weight loss, saying, “I think you’ve lost too much weight lately,” Beckinsale fired back, saying, “If it’s not criticism, it’s a passive-aggressive, completely unnecessary opinion from someone I don’t know who knows nothing about my circumstances. So next time you feel like commenting on someone’s body, I suggest you keep it to your f–ing self.”
Beckinsale didn’t stop there, responding to other unsolicited remarks with equally sharp retorts. To someone who suggested she gain weight, she replied, “Not all of us want t***ies like yours.” Another comment asking, “What happened to K. Beckinsale?” was met with, “She’s dead. So please end donations and flowers to @refugecharity.” When asked, “Is everything OK at home?” she responded bluntly, “Everything is absolutely great, f–k off.”
Beckinsale’s fiery response comes after a tough year, during which she lost significant weight due to stress and grief. She had previously opened up about her experiences in July, sharing how she lost weight rapidly after the death of her stepfather and while dealing with her mother’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis. She revealed that the emotional toll caused physical health issues, including vomiting blood, and that she was undergoing critical care. Despite all this, Beckinsale made it clear that she wasn’t concerned about the opinions of online critics during such a challenging time.
Her recent Instagram post, which included these responses, has since been deleted, but the actress made it clear she’s done tolerating body-shaming comments from strangers.
