Middle East countries like Oman and UAE interested to host the remaining past of the IPL

As both the ICC and the BCCI are looking at Muscat as one of the additional venues for the T20 World Cup because of the pandemic situation in India. Oman has made it clear that, given the opportunity, they are set to host the cricketing event if at all a situation arises to relocate the venue.

As the ICC has agreed to BCCI for giving time to decide on the issue, the final decision will only be out on the 28th of this month whether the event should be shifted to another venue and UAE has got a high chance.

On Friday speaking to the Times of India, the Oman cricket chief said, “The BCCI and ICC have to take a call first on this issue. We would be delighted to be a potential venue for it”. Adding to this, Pankaj also said that Oman has all the necessary facilities to host an event like a T20 World CUP.

Earlier this year, ‘The Oman Cricket Academy’ ground which is located in Al Amerat had received the status of hosting Test cricket from the ICC. “It’s a picturesque stadium, and has a beautiful clubhouse with indoor net facilities too, ” said Khimji.  Also, ICC had recognized it as one of the best cricketing venues amongst the associate cricket-playing nations.
