The highly anticipated sequel to the 2020 fantasy comedy Mookuthi Amman is all set to go on floors on March 6, 2025, with a grand pooja ceremony in Chennai. Leading lady Nayanthara will once again collaborate with director Sundar C for Mookuthi Amman 2, marking the start of an exciting cinematic journey.

The production house officially announced the film’s commencement with a social media post, accompanied by a message from producer Ishari K. Ganesh. “A massive cinematic journey begins with spiritual vibes! The wait is over—here we go!” read the post, signaling the start of the next big project.

The upcoming movie serves as a sequel to the 2020 hit Mookuthi Amman, which was directed by RJ Balaji and N. J. Saravanan. The first installment starred Nayanthara as a deity who helps expose fake godmen. The film also featured an ensemble cast including RJ Balaji, Urvashi, and Smruthi Venkat.

Nayanthara, who has a string of films lined up for 2025, was last seen in the 2023 film Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food and will next appear in Test, a sports drama with Siddharth and R. Madhavan. Fans are eagerly awaiting her other upcoming projects, including MMMN, alongside Mammootty and Mohanlal.
