Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), featuring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in the major roles, is expected to hit theaters shortly. Following repeated postponements and a lengthy release limbo, the picture will now be released on April 3, 2026, which coincides with Good Friday.
The creators of LIK took to social media to share the release update after several months of uncertainty. The team announced the news by writing: “It’s going to be a Good Friday. 3.4.2026.”
Love Insurance Vignesh Shivan directed Kompany, a science fiction love comedy. The film is set in 2040, in a futuristic version of Chennai where romance is controlled and monitored via technology. In this world, a man who believes in traditional genuine love meets Dheema, a technologically sophisticated woman. As their romance threatens Suriyan, the CEO of a love app, the young guy must battle for his love by confronting corporate forces and a technologically driven approach to relationships.
The film stars the Dragon actor and Krithi Shetty as the female lead. It also has SJ Suryah, Seeman, Yogi Babu, Gouri G Kishan, Shah Ra, and others in prominent parts. Anirudh Ravichander also composes the songs and background score, as well as providing the voice for a robotic character. Earlier, Vignesh Shivan hinted to an update on the film’s release.
Initially, LIK was scheduled to be released on September 18, 2025. However, for unclear reasons, it was postponed and eventually rescheduled for October 17, 2025, which coincided with Diwali. Meanwhile, Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju’s Dude had set the same release date, causing the makers of LIK to move the picture to avoid a box office collision. It was later delayed until December 18, 2025.
