Simone Ashley, known for her role in Bridgerton, is stepping into a new role in Prime Video’s modern romance Picture This. In the film, Ashley plays Pia, a determined, independent woman focused on growing her business, despite her mother’s constant pressure to get married. The plot takes a twist when a spiritual guru predicts that Pia will meet the love of her life in the next five days, leading her to a reunion with her ex, Charlie (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), at a party — someone she least expects to return to her life.
To move past Charlie and the predictions, Pia embarks on a series of blind dates set up by her family. The trailer showcases her disastrous dates, including a flat-earther, a man who has an allergic reaction, and one with a man so obsessed with her bone structure that he would go to extreme lengths. Despite the chaos, Pia might just find her heart opening to Charlie once again, although she remains cautious.
The movie blends humor with romantic moments, as Pia navigates the challenges of balancing her career, her family’s expectations, and her love life. The trailer features Pia in a stunning saree at an Indian wedding, where she first locks eyes with Charlie. Her mother’s pressure to marry is evident when she showcases the family’s ancestral jewelry, but Pia is firm in her independence, saying, “What if I don’t want to get married? I’m building a life for myself; I don’t need a man to do that.”
Alongside Ashley and Fiennes Tiffin, the cast includes Sindhu Vee, Luke Fetherston, Phil Dunster, Adil Ray, Anoushka Chadha, and Kulvinder Ghir, among others. Picture This will be released globally on Amazon Prime Video on March 6.
