The Rohit Sharma-led India team maintained their dominance in the 2023 World Cup, handing the Netherlands a crushing 160-run defeat in the last league stage match. The Men in Blue were the contest favorites and they lived up to the expectations. Because it was a World Cup game, fans would expect the atmosphere in the locker room to be quite serious. That, however, was not the case.
Team India has the finest dressing room atmosphere, and the video posted by the BCCI shows how close the players and coaches are. During the India-Netherlands match, head coach Rahul Dravid appeared to be in a good mood and responded well after watching his 1999 World Cup heroics on the big screen.
The local boy took pride in watching his heroics and acknowledged the applause. For those unfamiliar, Dravid finished the 1999 World Cup as the tournament’s leading run-scorer. In only eight matches, the former India skipper scored 461 runs. Dravid batted with a 65.85 average, scoring two centuries and three half-centuries.
Dravid was a part of the 2003 World Cup squad and led the Men in Blue in the 2007 World Cup. The India legend finished his one-day international career with 10889 runs. Dravid is one of just two Indian batsmen who have scored 10,000 or more runs in Tests and ODIs.
