Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiles Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach Prototype

Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed the first prototype of the highly anticipated Vande Bharat sleeper coach at BEML’s Bengaluru plant. In Indian Railways’ continuous attempts to modernise and enhance long-distance transport, this represents an essential turning point.

There will be a 10-day trial run for the new sleeper coach before it is put through extensive track testing. Within the next three months, the train will be made available to the general public if the results live up to expectations.

It is anticipated that the Vande Bharat sleeper coach will provide more efficiency and comfort than the existing Rajdhani Express and other long-distance variants. There will be 16 coaches in the sleeper version: 1 AC First Class Coach with 24 seats, 11 AC 3-tier coaches offering 611 berths, and 4 AC 2-tier coaches with 188 berths.

GFRP panels, sensor-based interiors, automatic external passenger doors, ergonomically designed odor-free restrooms, communication doors, and a large luggage space are just a few of the cutting-edge luxuries that this world-class coach has been equipped with. By assuring comfort and convenience for passengers travelling long distances, these enhancements seek to improve the whole travel experience. The launch of the Vande Bharat sleeper carriage is a testament to Indian Railways’ dedication to offering cutting-edge amenities and modernising travel inside the country.
