The horror comedy Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has significantly gained from Monday’s partial Raksha Bandhan holiday. Within the first five days of its release, the movie earned 283 crore in India, smashing the Rs 200 crore milestone.
According to the website, Stree 2 made ₹8.5 crore in its first day of sales, one day before it was officially released. The movie took in a remarkable ₹51.8 crore net on its first day of release in India. It then grossed ₹31.4 crore on its first Friday, a 39.38% decrease.However, the movie had a 39.65% hop on its opening Saturday, grossing 43.98 crore, and a 27.48% hike on Sunday, grossing 55.9 crore. The movie is expected to have made ₹37 crore on Monday, bringing its five-day gross revenue to around ₹228.45 crore net.
As of Sunday, the movie has earned over ₹283 crore globally, according to Maddock Films, the film’s producers. They stated on their social media post, “Stree 2 hits it out of the park, especially with Sunday numbers reading higher than that of August 15th! Records a massive ₹283 crore as worldwide weekend gross and an India nett of ₹204 crore — taking the love to a whole new level.”
The horror comedy released with Vedaa, starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh, and Khel Khel Mein, starring Akshay Kumar. At the box office, Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein are both facing challenges. While Khel Khel Mein has only made Rs 15.95 crore in its first five days of release, Vedaa has only managed to make Rs 15.50 crore.
