Ruturaj Gaikwad reckons of core strength of adaptability to impress in maiden India outing

Happy about his maiden selection in the Indian cricket side, Maharashtra cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad said he will be reckoning on his ability to adapt quickly when he tries to make an impression during the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

Gaikwad, who plays for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League is one among the six uncapped players who’ve got selected for India’s tour to Sri Lanka during July.  Shikhar Dhawan led side will be encountering the Lankans in three-match ODI series and three-T-20I games from July 13 to 25th of the same month.

Ruturaj speaking to the PTI expressed his happiness saying “I am just happy Right from the moment I got to know about it, you know a journey comes in front of your eyes that from where you started and where you wanted to reach…it’s a pretty emotional feeling. The opportunities would be limited but I’m just looking forward to learn from this journey as much as I can. There are experienced players in the group and obviously, once again I will get a chance to reconnect with Rahul Sir”

24-year old right-hand batsmen have played 21 first-class matches for his stateside and have scored 1,349 runs with the help of four centuries and at an average of 38.54. Gaikwad had also scored 400 runs from 11 matches during the 2020 edition of the IPL.
