Sachin Tendulkar’s deepfake video talking about Sara Tendulkar goes viral, cricketer urges strict action

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar slammed a fake video that went viral on social media in which his voice was changed to promote an online game. In the edited video, the cricketer can be seen promoting an online game, citing his daughter Sara’s earnings of Rs 1.8 lakh per day from the game’s predictions.

It was said in the video that Tendulkar’s daughter plays a certain game that helps her earn money. After the clip went viral, Tendulkar posted on his social media account, stating that he had nothing to do with the video and that it had been edited.

The legendary cricketer expressed concern over the “rampant misuse of technology”. He also appealed to stop the “spread of misinformation and deepfakes” and urged people to be more alert and cautious.

Sharing the fake video on this X account, Sachinm wrote, “These videos are fake. It is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology. Request everyone to report videos, ads & apps like these in large numbers. Social Media platforms need to be alert and responsive to complaints. Swift action from their end is crucial to stopping the spread of misinformation and deepfakes.” He also alerted the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State and Maharashtra Cyber Crime.
