After the vacations of Diwali and Chhath Puja, schools and institutions around the state have reopened, marking the end of the festive season. However, because of Cyclone Montha, schools in a few states will be closed on Thursday, October 30. Due to poor weather conditions following Cyclone Montha, schools in a number of districts in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha will be closed tomorrow.
1. Andhra Pradesh: Twelve districts’ worth of schools and colleges will be shuttered until October 31 due to the unfavorable weather. The Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education has issued an order that states that schools in Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, and YSR Kadapa will continue to be closed.
2. Odisha: Several districts in Odisha have been asked to close their schools until October 30. According to local reports, schools are anticipated to close in the following districts: Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi.
3. Tamil Nadu: Due to the continuous, intense rains that have followed Cyclonic Storm Montha, schools and colleges in a number of districts are probably going to be closed on Thursday, October 30. Tomorrow, all educational institutions and schools in the Tiruvallur district will be closed.
