Shafali Verma to make her ODI debut and Test call up , Shikha Pandey and Taniya Bhatia make a comeback to the squad

Rajeshwari Gaikwad left out as suffering from COVID-19, uncapped Indrani Roy makes herself fit in the squad

Indian Women’s cricket team announced its squad for the seven-match series tour against England. Shafali Verma receives a call up for her maiden selection in ODIs and has also been included in the Test squad, whereas, Shikha Pandey and Taniya Bhatia make a comeback to the team. Uncapped Jharkhand wicketkeeper batter Indrani Roy is also made herself fit in the squad.

Rajeshwari Gaikwad, who is suffering from COVID-19and an injury back while playing against South Africa at home has forced the left-arm spinner to miss out on the squad. However, 27-year-old Sneh Raha who made her last international appearance in 2016 also returns to the team for the England tour.

The tour starts with a one-off Test from June 16 at Bristol and will be concluded at the same venue when both the teams will lock horns for the final time in the third T20I on July 15 2021. There will be a total of one Test, three ODIs followed by three T20I matches to conclude the tour.
