Shikhar Dhawan shared his training pictures ahead of the Sri Lanka tour

Indian veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan was seen putting in the hard work in a gym session ahead of India’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka.

Indian veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan was seen putting in the hard work in a gym session ahead of India’s white-ball tour to Sri Lanka. Shikhar Dhawan has been named as the captain of the young side as Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma are currently on the tour of England.

The opening batsman posted some of his training sessions pictures and clips on Instagram where he was seen getting up to fit for the Sri Lanka tour.

Dhawan captioned the picture:

“Stronger everyday, Training under @smartstrengthindia’s watchful eye.”

Along with Shikhar Dhawan, veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been named Shikhar Dhawan’s vice-captain. In the tour to Sri Lanka, selectors have awarded 4 young, IPL 2021 performer maiden call-up for the National team, with an announcement of 20 players squad, selectors have also picked 5 net bowlers.

The tour will begin with three ODIs matches starting from July 13, followed by the same number of T20Is starting from July 21. All six matches will be played in R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Team India is excepted to fly out to Colombo on June 28.
