With Do Deewane Seher Mein set to arrive in theatres on February 20, actor Siddhant Chaturvedi is reflecting on a personal journey that began long before the arc lights of Bollywood. In a recent interaction, the actor revisited his school years, revealing that he struggled with bullying over his appearance and background.
Siddhant shared that his curly hair often made him feel different at a time when straight, silky hairstyles were popular, inspired by stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor. Trying to fit in, he would attempt to straighten his hair at home. He also mentioned that a farewell photograph from Class 10, recently posted on Instagram was once a memory he felt embarrassed about.
Moving to Mumbai and entering the film industry further tested his self-belief. The actor admitted that Bollywood’s beauty standards pushed him to confront his insecurities. Over time, however, he realised that confidence mattered more than appearance. Today, he says he has embraced his natural look and prefers to present himself as he is.
Despite this growth, Siddhant acknowledged that emotional lows still surface, particularly when professional expectations are not met. During such phases, he chooses solitude and reflection. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, known for Mom, the film also stars Mrunal Thakur and marks Siddhant’s second collaboration with the filmmaker after Yudhra.
