Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar continues to make headlines even months after its release, and the film’s growing impact has now drawn a candid reaction from Suniel Shetty. The actor recently spoke about his experience of watching the action spy thriller and admitted that he wished he had been associated with the project.
In a conversation with Lehren, Suniel described Dhurandhar as a powerful film that left a strong impression on him. He revealed that he had already conveyed his feelings to director Aditya Dhar, explaining that he was originally signed for Dhar’s ambitious project The Immortal Ashwatthama, which was later shelved. With paperwork and discussions already in place for that film, Suniel said watching Dhurandhar made him feel he had missed out on an exciting opportunity.
The actor also weighed in on the performances that have been widely discussed since the film’s release. While many viewers have praised Akshaye Khanna’s portrayal of Rehman Dakait, Suniel said he was equally impressed, but added that Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar stood out even more for him, appreciating both the lead performance and the director’s vision.
Dhurandhar, which released in theatres in December before debuting on OTT, has enjoyed a strong run and topped streaming charts after its digital release. Suniel’s comments have further added to the film’s post-release buzz.
Notably, Suniel and Akshaye Khanna, who shared screen space in Border (1997), recently reunited in cameo appearances for Border 2. Their segment was filmed after Dhurandhar hit theatres, marking yet another chapter in their long on-screen association.
