Tabraiz Shamshi feels strange as he becomes the No.1 T20I bowler

South African spinner Tabraiz Shamshi had a strange reaction after he achieved the feat of becoming the  No.1 bowler in the T20I format, as announced by the ICC.  31-year old left-arm bowler got confused once the rankings were announced as he attained the spot in a time when he was not that much active on the ground.  Shamsi has played 32 T20I games and has picked 31 wickets for the SA side and 4/33 being his best bowling figure.

“The world rankings were not something that I was actively looking at because I don’t know if anyone understands how they work. I was more chuffed to be No. 2 after the Pakistan series in Pakistan because I played and had done nicely, but the No. 1 ranking came when I was not even actively playing,” Tabraiz Shamsi was quoted as saying by Times live. Tabriz also stated that he was not even the best bowler in the present South African squad.

Currently, Shamsi is part of the South African ODI and T20I side which will be touring for the upcoming series against the West Indies.  Proteas, being the visiting side will be playing against the West Indian side in two Test and 5 ODIs. The series will place in the current month of June and July.
