Tamannaah Bhatia plays a sadhvi in director Ashok Teja’s supernatural thriller Odela 2, which is a follow-up to Sampath Nandi’s Odela Railway Station from 2022. On Saturday, the film’s crew unveiled the teaser at the Mahakumbh.
Odela 2, which also features Hebah Patel, the original film’s female lead, takes a supernatural approach, whereas Odela Railway Station was a crime thriller. Though it doesn’t give away much, the one-minute, fifty-two-second teaser suggests that Tamannaah’s character Shiva Shakthi will be travelling to Odela, a village guarded by the god Odela Mallanna Swamy, to battle an evil that says it has dominion over the five elements.
Soundar Rajan S is the film’s cinematographer, and Ajaneesh Loknath wrote the soundtrack. The screenplay, dialogue, story, and direction supervision are all Sampath’s.
“I’m really lucky,” Tamannaah said during the release of the Odela 2 teaser at Prayagraj. “We started this film with a very small idea. The crew will undoubtedly receive many blessings and financial rewards for producing this movie. Since the teaser wouldn’t be the same if we released it anywhere else, I consider myself fortunate that we did so here.”
Tamannaah prepared for the part by studying sadhus’ body language, the team revealed at the launch. Odela 2 also features important roles for Vasishta N. Simha, Yuva, Naga Mahesh, Vamshi, Gagan Vihari, Surender Reddy, Bhupal, and Pooja Reddy.
The movie’s release date has not yet been revealed, but the teaser just suggests that it will happen soon. It is produced by D Madhu and Sampath under Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi Teamworks, began filming in Kashi last year.
