Tata Group in talks to bid debt-laden Air India with Singapore Airlines

Tata Group has involved into negotiations with its joint venture partner in Vistara. Vistara proposed a bid for the loss making national carrier Air India. Tata sons plans to take over Air India single handedly if Singapore Airlines refuses to join the bid. Vistara would also require approval from SIA and Tamsek (which owns 55% in SIA). The centre has postponed Air India’s bidding four times till now due to COVID-19 scenarios.
