As the cricketing world is getting curious day by day about the final of the World Test Championship, the International Cricket Council has now announced the prize money for the winners and the runners of the marquee event.
According to ICC, the team that emerges victorious in the event will receive a huge amount of US $1.6 million (INR 11.71 crores). While the runner-up side will get half of the winner’s amount, that is $800,000 (INR 5.85 crores).
The Indian Cricket Team and the New Zealand cricketing side who are in the fray will have a face-off from June 18th to 22nd of this month in the final game of the World Test Championship which will be played at the Ages Bowl of Southampton to end the two-year-long tournament. However, June 23 has been announced as the reserve day to make up for any lost time due to weather or over-rate issues.
New Zealand, who won the Test series against the England Cricket Team on their soil has now climbed up to the topmost position of the ICC Test team rankings. With this, the Kiwis will be on a highly positive note to participate in the big event. However, on the other hand, the Indian side has engaged itself in an exciting intra-squad match simulation to prepare for the high-stakes encounter.
