Six-time world champion Indian boxer MC Mary Kom lost to Colombia’s Ingrit Valencia in a round-16 match in the women’s boxing event at the Tokyo Olympics. Mary Kom, who was considered a strong contender for India’s medal lost a very close match.

Mary Kom’s loss in the pre-quarterfinal match in this way has given a big blow to India’s medal hopes. While Ingrit Valencia managed to impress three judges with her performance, Mary Kom impressed only two judges in the match.

In the first round of this match, Mary Kom lost by 1-4. But in the second round, Mary Kom made a spectacular comeback to register a 3-2 win.
