
The veteran actor Geoffrey Deuel, who played renowned criminal Billy the Kid in the John Wayne movie Chisum in 1970, has died. He was eighty-one years old.
After a fight with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Geoffrey Deuel passed away on December 22 in hospice care in Largo, Florida, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The site received confirmation of his death from his wife, Jacqueline Deuel.
In addition to The Monkees, The Invaders, The FBI, The Flying Nun, Medical Centre, Mannix, Adam-12, The Mod Squad, Mission: Impossible, The Streets of San Francisco, Ironside, Cannon, and The Young and the Restless, Deuel had several appearances on television programs between the middle of the 1960s and the middle of the 1970s. Born on January 17, 1943, in Lockport, New York, Geoffrey Jacob Deuel grew up in the neighbouring town of Penfield.
His mother, Lillian, was a nurse, and his father, Ellsworth, was a physician. Deuel went back to school in the 1980s to obtain a master’s degree from the University of South Florida after performing in plays in Tampa’s Ybor City neighbourhood. He was a substitute teacher for many years.
