Renowned filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra has thrilled fans by confirming that sequels to his iconic films, 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai, are in the works. Speaking in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Chopra revealed, “I am writing both 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3.” This announcement has sparked excitement among moviegoers eager to revisit these beloved franchises.
Chopra emphasized his commitment to quality over commercial gains, stating that he aims to create meaningful and memorable cinema rather than rushing sequels to capitalize on earlier successes. Alongside these highly anticipated projects, he is also venturing into new genres with a kids’ film and a horror-comedy in development.
Meanwhile, Chopra’s latest project, Zero Se Start, a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of his critically acclaimed film 12th Fail, premiered at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa and hit theaters on December 13. The documentary showcases his creative journey as a filmmaker.
12th Fail, inspired by Anurag Pathak’s book, became a surprise hit, earning praise for its inspiring portrayal of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, played by Vikrant Massey, and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, portrayed by Medha Shankar.
With 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3 in the pipeline, Chopra’s fans are eagerly awaiting his next cinematic ventures, confident that his dedication to artistic integrity will once again deliver exceptional storytelling.
