Vistara flight, while travelling from Mumbai to Kolkata with a flight load of 113 passengers, encountered severe turbulence 15minutes before landing the destination on Monday. The Boeing 737 recorded injuries of 3 passengers. The flight departed from Mumbai at 1:48pm sharp and arrived into Kolkata at 4:28pm.
The flight was hit turbulence 15 minutes before landing as quotes by the news agency, Press Trust of India.
The injured passengers were immediately taken to hospital after landing and review at airport medical facility, officials said. Amongst three, two passengers are undergoing X-Ray diagnostic for any bone related injuries, whereas one has been discharged.
Aviation regulator DGCA sources claims,
First Passenger: a 61-year-old women received fracture in her right hand and is shifted to Belle Vue hospital, a private healthcare centre at Kolkata
Second Passenger: a 77-year-old received spinal injury and is undergoing treatment in Charnock hospital, another private healthcare centre in Kolkata
Third Passenger: a 36-year-old received a minor cut on forehead and had been discharged after a first aid treatment.
“We are saddened by this unfortunate experience our customers had, and are closely monitoring the health status of those injured, however we are investigative the incident on priority, and will share a further update at the earliest,” a Vistara spokesperson said, via Indian Express.
