West Indies all packed up with home summer series in 2021 involving South Africa, Pakistan and Australia

West Indies Cricket has announced a packed summer in 2021 with home series against South Africa, Pakistan and Australia. All three teams are set to voyage the Caribbean later this year.

From a time period between June to August, West Indies will host consecutive series for  South Africa, Pakistan and Australia. The Indies will start with a Test followed by the T20I series against South Africa in June 2021. However, the series was scheduled to be played in 2020.

The Test will be played against South Africa from June 10 at St Lucia followed by five-match T20I series at Grenada, which will conclude on July 3, 2021. This will be the first bilateral meet between the Caribbean sides after a long break since 2010.

The schedule will be followed by Pakistan face the host with five-match T20I series in Barbados and Guyana, accompanied by two Tests in Jamaica. Pakistan’s tour will stretch from 26 June to 24 August, ending four days prior to the start of the Caribbean Premier League.

The entire series will consist of fifteen T20I matches as well as four Test matches and three ODIs providing ample preparation for the main event ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.

“Following the successful hosting of the all-format series against Sri Lanka earlier this year, we are delighted to announce that we are set to welcome South Africa, Australia and Pakistan to the West Indies,” the CWI CEO Johnny Grave said.

Grave also mentioned the challenges they will have to face and make sure that they come through it successfully while hosting the entire series during the COVID-19 crisis.

“We must thank the visiting teams for agreeing to travel at this challenging period for world cricket, and we are especially grateful to our regional governments who are playing such a vital role in partnering with CWI to ensure that International cricket can be hosted safely while providing entertainment for our loyal fans and income for our cricketers and cricket communities.” Grave concluded
