The Boys is gearing up for its highly anticipated final season, and the cast and showrunner Eric Kripke recently sat down at the FYC panel to discuss what fans can expect. Kripke shared his bittersweet feelings about wrapping up the series but emphasized the creative freedom that comes with concluding a story. He noted that not having to stretch storylines into additional seasons allows the team to really go all out in the final episodes. “It’s really fun when it’s the end,” he said, though he admitted that the emotional weight of it all hadn’t fully sunk in yet.
As for the character of Homelander, Kripke teased that season five will take him into an entirely new and darker territory. Homelander’s character, described as being “literally all trauma,” will wrestle with his god-like ambitions while grappling with his humanity. Kripke explained, “He wants to be a god, but he’s a man, and it’s slowly driving him insane.”
Cast members Antony Starr, Laz Alonzo, and Jessie T. Usher also reflected on their experiences filming the final season. Starr, in particular, expressed gratitude for knowing the show’s trajectory from the start, having been informed that the series would span five seasons. He shared, “We’ve known since Day 1—you said, five seasons,” adding that it’s a rare opportunity for actors to work on a show with such a clear end in sight. Starr also mentioned that the cast would remain close even after the series ends, hinting at lasting bonds formed throughout their time working together.
Fans will have to wait until 2026 for the final season of The Boys, but it’s clear that the creators are determined to give viewers an explosive, memorable conclusion to this wildly popular series.
