John Capodice, a cherished character actor in Hollywood, has passed away at the age of 83. The actor, known for his memorable roles in films and TV shows, died on December 30, 2024. The announcement came through the New Jersey Pizzi Funeral Home, although the cause of death was not disclosed.
Capodice’s career spanned several decades, with his first notable role on the ABC-TV soap Ryan’s Hope in the 1970s. He later gained recognition for his performance as Sgt. Aguado in the 1994 comedy Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, starring Jim Carrey. His television credits include appearances on General Hospital, Seinfeld, Six Feet Under, Law & Order, and The West Wing, among others. He also appeared in the movie Ringmaster.
Apart from his work in television and film, Capodice was a respected theater artist. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966, stationed in Korea, and was a proud member of the Blauvelt Sons of Italy Rockland Lodge 2176.
He is survived by his wife, Jane, their two children, and four grandchildren. His passing marks the end of an era for fans and colleagues who remember his contributions to both the entertainment industry and his community.
