Why wasn’t Ranveer Allahbadia’s insensitive comment captured on CCTV?

According to insiders, the camera was covered with a black cloth prior to the shoot, therefore there is no CCTV footage of Ranveer Allahbadia’s crude comments during India’s Most Latent roast program.

The shocking disclosure was made by Mumbai Police after they began looking into complaints over Allahbadia’s comments, which have triggered a national discussion about mature content in stand-up comedy gigs. Sources claim that a police squad visited the location of the occurrence, The Habitat cafe in Khar West, today. Balraj Singh Ghai is the owner of this cafe, which is a major location for comedic performances.

The comedian Samay Raina, host of India’s Got Latent, is friends with Mr. Ghai. Police requested information about the contentious incident and related CCTV footage from the Habitat authorities. Sources claim that in order to avoid being recorded on CCTV, the cameras are typically covered with a black cloth during shooting.

After filming these episodes, the content is taken with the shooters. Therefore, there is no documentation of what was shot at the studio. It’s typical for those who record video for YouTube to cover CCTVs during shootings in order to prevent studio leaks.

Additionally, YouTube removed the video of the contentious comment after the Centre sent a complaint to the streaming service. Mumbai Police are looking into the incident in accordance with Section 173(3) of the Bharatiya Nagrarik Suraksha Sanhita after receiving numerous complaints over Allahbadia’s crude comments.

According to this clause, police must investigate and take appropriate action within 14 days if there is a prima facie case. Meanwhile, a case has already been filed by Assam Police against Raina, Allahbadia, influencer Apoorva Makhija, and other others.

In a recent episode of Raina’s India’s Got Latent, Allahbadia—also referred to as the BeerBiceps Guy—made an appearance. “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” Allahbadia asks a contestant in a brief, now-viral, clip from the show.

Allahbadia apologised after the comments caused a huge uproar, claiming that he made a mistake in judgement and that comedy was not his strong suit. The podcaster stated that he did not want to exploit his platform in this manner.
