5 unhealthy foods to avoid for a good health

Fast foods and junk foods have established their place in our eating habits. While having something once in a while will not ruin our health, having too much of something can be severe for our body.

Here is a list of 5 unhealthy foods that should be avoided.

1. Hot dogs

Processed meat is one of the worst things you can put into your body. Processed meat is high in sodium and saturated fats and is filled with sodium nitrite. Consumption of processed meat causes heart problems and diabetes and can even cause colon and rectal cancer.

2. Pretzels

Pretzels consist of refined carbs, which are harmful to our bodies. They have absolutely no fiber, no protein, and healthy fat to keep you satiated or add health benefits. You can replace pretzels with a handful of nuts or other snacks which have fiber. Diets rich in fiber lower the risk of heart diseases and type 2 diabetes.

3. Diet Soda

If something is calorie-free does not mean that it is chemical-free. Diet soda contains artificial sweeteners triggering insulin, sending your body into fat storage mode, ultimately leading to weight gain. Diet soda also increases the risk of metabolic syndrome.

4. Processed Pastries

Long shelf life and a long list of ingredients indicate unhealthy food. Processed Pastries are refined sugar, refined wheat flour, unhealthy trans fats, and other chemicals and artificial ingredients. Trans fat is responsible for causing coronary heart disease, diabetes, and sudden death from cardiac causes.

5. Fluorescent orange snacks

These snacks are full of salt, chemicals, and artificial ingredients. These foods are known to be absolute junk for their effects on the body.
