Allu Arjun arrest case: actor gives first statement on release from jail

Following his release from prison, Allu Arjun made his first remarks regarding the killing of a fan at the Pushpa 2: The Rule movie premiere last week.

“I am a law-abiding citizen and will cooperate,” the actor told reporters outside the jail. I want to offer the family my condolences once more. It was a regrettable event.

Following the death of a fan at the launch of his most recent movie, Pushpa 2, last week, Allu Arjun was taken into custody from his home in Banjara Hills on Friday afternoon. On December 4, when the actor and his co-star Rashmika Mandanna arrived at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad for the film’s screening, a stampede-like situation broke out. After her kid was taken to the hospital, where he remains critically ill, 35-year-old Revathi perished in the chaos.

In the FIR that the deceased’s husband filed, Allu Arjun was listed as an accused. The Telangana High Court granted the actor temporary bail for four weeks after a lower court sentenced him to 14 days of judicial custody. The actor remained in jail overnight, though, so his experience was far from done.

According to jail officials, they were unable to handle the actor’s release on time because they did not get the bail order in a timely manner. Allu Arjun’s attorney, however, has denounced it as “illegal detention” and stated that they will “take legal steps.”

A political slugfest was also sparked by the high-profile arrest, with the BJP and BRS attacking the Telangana ruling Congress for the treatment of the star and TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud retaliating that everyone is treated equally under the law.
