Charli XCX Supports Chappell Roan’s Call For Helping Struggling Artists at 2025 Grammys

Charli XCX is standing in solidarity with Chappell Roan after Roan’s powerful Best New Artist acceptance speech at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where she called for livable wages and healthcare for emerging artists.

Roan shared her personal struggles, including being dropped by a label during the pandemic and losing health insurance. Her speech received a standing ovation, but former music exec Jeff Rabhan criticized her in an op-ed, claiming she was misinformed and challenging her to take action.

Roan responded by donating $25,000 to support struggling artists and publicly challenged Rabhan to match it.

Charli XCX then backed Roan on Instagram, calling her speech “inspiring and thoughtful.” She also committed to matching Roan’s $25,000 donation, proving she’s putting her money where her mouth is.

Now, the spotlight is on other artists and record labels—will they step up to support change in the industry?
