Following his sudden departure from Don 3, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has released their thoughts on Ranveer Singh. Before issuing a non-cooperation directive, Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit told the media that they had repeatedly tried to settle the issue in private. Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar contacted the federation about the conflict in April, and the directive was made public on May 25, 2026.
In an interview with ETimes, Pandit stated that the federation has made multiple attempts to start a conversation with the actor in an effort to resolve the matter peacefully. Thus, we made a tremendous effort to do our best. We invited him three times. When he learned that we were holding a news conference, he ultimately sent a letter stating that this was outside of his jurisdiction after receiving no answer, according to Pandit.
“So with that said, fine, if you feel so strongly,” he continued. “Toh theek hai. Koi baat nahi. It doesn’t matter. That’s a fundamental issue, so we’ll wait. The producer body will be seated among us. We’ll observe what happens when we sit with various affiliations.”
Pandit emphasized that a solution must be reached by both parties and that the issue cannot go on endlessly. Pandit asserts that the conflict shouldn’t be handled “like some family dispute” and that, in the end, industry participants must cooperate despite disagreements.
Singh’s representative defended the actor’s quiet during the incident in a thorough statement. “Ranveer Singh has the utmost respect for the film industry and for all those connected to the Don franchise,” the statement said. He has deliberately opted to remain silent throughout the current events surrounding Don 3 because he feels that professional conversations and private matters should be addressed with respect, decency, and maturity.
In 2023, Ranveer Singh was formally named as the new face of the franchise following Shah Rukh Khan’s lead role in Don and Don 2. However, after the actor purportedly left the film in late 2025, rumors of conflict between Ranveer and the producers emerged. Farhan later told FWICE that since the movie had already begun pre-production, Ranveer’s abrupt departure resulted in financial losses of Rs. 45 crore.
