Family Friend Reveals How Kate Middleton’s Approach to Life Has Changed Post-Cancer Battle as Princess of Wales Turns 43

Kate Middleton, who turned 43 on January 9, is prioritizing her well-being after a challenging year. The Princess of Wales, who was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer, announced on social media that she had completed chemotherapy.

A close family friend told People magazine that Middleton, known for her active and sporty nature, is now focusing on self-care. “She is looking after herself and is wise to do so,” the friend said. “She will know when she wakes up if she is well enough or not (to do something).”

Royal expert Robert Hardman, author of The Making of a King: Charles III and the Modern Monarchy, emphasized that this isn’t an instant return to normalcy. Speaking to People, he noted that cancer recovery is unpredictable, and those around Middleton are being encouraged to understand that this phase isn’t a definitive ending.

Hardman pointed to Middleton’s own words in her chemotherapy completion video from September 2024, where she stated she was taking things “one day at a time.” He highlighted that this mindset reflects her cautious approach to healing and recovery.

In that same video, Middleton shared that her priority is doing everything she can to remain cancer-free. She acknowledged that while chemotherapy is behind her, the road to full recovery is long, and she remains committed to taking each step as it comes.
