Dave Grohl marked his 56th birthday by giving back to the community in the wake of the Los Angeles wildfire disaster. On January 14, 2025, Grohl was spotted volunteering with Feed the Streets, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing meals to those affected by the wildfires, including displaced families and firefighters working on the frontlines. In a video shared by the organization on Instagram, Grohl is seen stirring a giant pot of red paste alongside other volunteers, later pushing a cart of supplies.
This act of kindness is just one example of Grohl’s ongoing commitment to community service. In February 2024, he joined L.A. nonprofit Hope the Mission, where he and his friends barbecued 70 pork butts for The Woodland Family Shelter, working tirelessly for over 24 hours. In December 2023, Grohl also took a break from Foo Fighters’ tour to volunteer in Melbourne, Australia, at The Big Umbrella, a street kitchen charity for the homeless, where he served meals for hours at Federation Square.
The Los Angeles wildfires, which began on January 7, 2025, have been devastating, destroying thousands of acres and several homes and businesses, leaving at least 25 people dead. Grohl’s volunteer efforts come as the community rallies together to cope with the destruction. His giving spirit is all the more poignant following his recent revelation of becoming a father to a baby girl outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum.
