Gabriel Macht is set to reprise his iconic role as Harvey Specter in the upcoming Suits spinoff

Harvey Specter is back! Gabriel Macht is stepping into one of his most beloved roles once again for the upcoming spinoff, Suits: LA, premiering on February 23 at 9 PM ET on NBC.

Fans of the original Suits—which first aired in 2011—remember Harvey as the sharp-witted, charismatic lawyer who dominated the courtroom with confidence and style. His return to the franchise comes as a surprise to many, especially since Macht had previously stepped away from acting. However, the reason behind his comeback is simple: he’s doing it for the fans.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Macht made it clear that reprising his role isn’t about personal ambition. “I’m just doing it for the fans. I’m not doing it for me. I’ve done it 134 times,” he emphasized, referring to his extensive run in the original series.

For Macht, stepping back into Harvey’s polished shoes isn’t about career growth or financial gain—it’s about giving loyal fans one final glimpse of the legendary closer. He admitted that he had little interest in returning to acting at this time, as he’s been focusing on raising his kids and exploring creative projects like his lifestyle brand, Bear Fight.

Rather than a full-fledged comeback, Macht sees his appearance in Suits: LA as a way to pass the torch and help set the stage for a brand-new chapter in the Suits universe. He described his role as a “stepping stone” for the new series, stating that anything he can do to support the show’s launch is worth it.

Unlike the original series set in New York, Suits: LA brings the high-stakes legal drama to the West Coast. Leading the new cast is Stephen Amell (Arrow), who plays Ted Black—a former federal prosecutor looking for a fresh start in Los Angeles.

Joining Amell are:

  • Josh McDermitt (The Walking Dead) as Stuart Lane
  • Lex Scott Davis (Rebel) as Erica Rollins
  • Bryan Greenberg (How to Make It in America) as Rick Dodsen

Additionally, big names like Victoria Justice, Patton Oswalt, and Maggie Grace are expected to make guest appearances.

With Macht helping to bridge the gap between old and new, Suits: LA is gearing up to be an exciting continuation of the beloved franchise, bringing fresh faces, new challenges, and the same sharp legal battles fans have come to love.
