Godrej Enterprises Group has launched India’s first Multi Ion battery technology for electric forklifts through its Material Handling Equipment business, targeting growing demand for sustainable industrial mobility solutions.
The company said the technology has been designed to deliver higher uptime, improved energy efficiency, and lower operating costs for warehousing and manufacturing operations.
The Multi Ion battery offers fast and opportunity charging, requires zero maintenance, and is designed to operate in temperatures exceeding 45°C, making it suitable for Indian industrial environments.
Godrej said the battery technology delivers up to 5,000 life cycles, around 60% higher than standard lithium-ion batteries, allowing it to last through the operational life of the forklift.
The launch comes at a time when India’s warehousing sector is witnessing strong expansion, driven by rising demand from e-commerce companies, third-party logistics providers, and manufacturers.

The company added that the battery has been validated through over 5,000 hours of real-world testing and comes with a seven-year warranty.
