Gracie Abrams is opening up about love, relationships, and personal growth just in time for Valentine’s Day. In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, the Close to You singer shared her thoughts on the romantic holiday, her dating experiences, and what she values in a healthy relationship.
Unlike some who find Valentine’s Day overrated, Abrams said she’s not a “hater” and actually enjoys the idea of celebrating love collectively. She recalled spending one Valentine’s Day with her roommates in their Barnard University dorm and another time making out with a cute guy at a bar after one of her New York shows.
On the topic of relationships, Abrams emphasized that a good partnership doesn’t drastically change one’s life but instead integrates naturally. “You just fit into each other in a way that feels positively challenging and deeply supportive—it’s like a place to land,” she explained.
Romance rumors have been swirling around Abrams and Gladiator II actor Paul Mescal since June 2024, when they were first spotted grabbing a meal together. By August, they were seen holding hands, and later that year, they were reportedly “going strong,” according to sources who noted that Mescal even attended Abrams’ New York City concert.
The couple has yet to make their relationship Instagram official, but their recent low-key appearances—like sneaking into the afterparty of Gladiator II’s premiere—suggest things are heating up.
Mescal, known for his breakout role in Normal People, has cemented himself as a rising star, especially with Gladiator II becoming a box-office success. Meanwhile, Abrams continues to make waves with her performances, especially as part of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
