Hilary Duff stepped up as a true friend to Mandy Moore during the Los Angeles wildfires, offering her home as a safe haven for Moore’s family. Moore, along with her husband Taylor Goldsmith and their three young children — August “Gus” Harrison (3), Oscar “Ozzie” Bennett (2), and Louise Everett (3 months) — were forced to evacuate their home due to the blazes threatening the area.
Griffin Goldsmith, Moore’s brother-in-law, shared on Instagram that the family was staying with Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma. He expressed deep gratitude for their kindness, thanking them for taking in his brother’s family during the crisis. “This is the kindest act any human could do for another. They are the most beautiful, selfless people we’ve ever known,” Griffin wrote.
He also revealed that many of their relatives, including his parents, lived in Altadena and had lost their homes in the fire. Taylor and Mandy lived nearby and faced similar devastation, with many of their friends and former crew members also losing their homes. “All of these houses are gone,” Griffin said, adding that what they mourned most was the loss of their tight-knit community.
In his post, Griffin thanked everyone who supported them during this difficult time, especially Duff and Koma, who went above and beyond by setting up a GoFundMe to help the family recover and move forward.
