IIFA 2024: Bobby Deol reveals why he shifted to negative roles

Bobby Deol shared his journey of changing his image as an actor in the industry with the characters he is currently seen at the IIFA Awards 2024, in addition to celebrating his win for Performance in a Negative Role for Animal.

In “Animal,” Bobby Deol portrayed the quiet antagonist “Abrar Haque,” and he did a great job with the part, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience. In response to the question of whether the industry is profiting off his evil parts, Bobby said, “Aisa kuch nahin hota hain.” How come the main industry has joined? Well, that’s because there’s nothing like that—apko usi tarah ke roles milte hain, jis tarah ke roles karte hain. I was cast in characters similar to those I played in my films when I first entered the industry.”

He also adds, “It is not new; it has been happening for some time. That’s how things will always be. It took me a while to change my look, but in the end, I did it and created some extremely characters.”

The actor also discussed his career’s setbacks, saying, “I just think that hard days are part of life.” I don’t feel like, “Oh my God, I went through that period” when I look at them. I’m not sure. I really can’t talk about the movie right now, so I won’t be talking about it. It is a journey that each individual experiences. There will come a day when you receive recognition for your efforts if you work hard.”

As he accepted an award, the actor spiced up the evening with his signature Jamal Kudu move from Animal, which involved balancing a glass on his head.
