Actor Imran Khan recently opened up about his nerve-wracking experience hosting the Filmfare Awards in 2009 alongside Ranbir Kapoor. During a conversation on the Moments of Silence podcast, Imran revealed that Ranbir brought along expensive vodka to help them ease their anxiety.
“Honestly, the awards night was quite stressful because I was less than a year in the industry, and knowing that people like Mr. (Amitabh) Bachchan would be in the front row was very scary,” Imran shared. “After the dress rehearsal, Ranbir showed up with expensive vodka. Every time we were off the stage, we had a few sips before getting back on. It helped us keep our nerves in check.”
Imran also recalled another nerve-racking moment when he walked the ramp with Ranbir Kapoor for a fashion show hosted by Karan Johar. Reflecting on that experience, he admitted, “I have never been comfortable with stage shows or ramp walks. Actual models walk with a sense of confidence, and all I’m thinking about is not falling down on stage. It was harrowing.”
The actor, who was last seen in Katti Batti (2015) alongside Kangana Ranaut, has been on a break from films since then. However, Imran is considering an acting comeback and is currently reviewing new projects. He also revealed that a planned spy series with Disney+ Hotstar, directed by Abbas Tyrewala, was canceled after Hotstar’s takeover by Jio.
