Jamie Foxx teases return to stand-up comedy after his health scare last year

Jamie Foxx, an actor, comedian, and musician, appears to be preparing for a comeback in comedy. After his sudden health crisis in 2023, the Django Unchained star shared an old video on Instagram and stated he’s “planning on bringing more moments” to his followers.

The actor shared a short clip from one of his earlier standup shows on his Instagram account on Wednesday, February 28. In the video, which was taken from Foxx’s 2002 HBO comedy spectacular I Might Need Security, he imitates the late musician Prince while singing The Brady Bunch theme.

Foxx, who became well-known for his comedic roles, made appearances on the early 1990s sketch series In Living Color. The actor released five studio albums between 1994 and 2015 in addition to three comedy specials between 1993 and 2003. Also, the Hollywood star established himself as a phenomenal actor by starring in several popular films.

Foxx’s Instagram post reads, “PRINCE singing the Brady Bunch theme song was a moment… I’m planning on bringing more moments… Going to get on somebody’s stage somewhere near you. I got some jokes, and a story to tell…. #backonmyfunnyshit.”

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, this was the star’s first official statement suggesting that he would make a comeback to comedy.
