Jeremy Strong will be starring in a Netflix series adaptation of The Boys From Brazil

Jeremy Strong is set to star in a Netflix series adaptation of The Boys From Brazil, a thriller based on Ira Levin’s 1976 novel, as reported by Variety. The series will be written by Peter Morgan, best known for his work on The Crown, and he will also executive produce the project alongside Suzanne Mackie of Orchid Pictures.

In the adaptation, Strong will play Yakov Liebermann, a Nazi hunter—a role originally portrayed by Laurence Olivier in the 1978 film version. The story follows Liebermann as he receives a tip about Dr. Josef Mengele, the notorious Nazi doctor known as the “Angel of Death,” who is allegedly living in Brazil under a new identity. As Liebermann travels to South America to track him down, he uncovers a dark conspiracy.

This role marks Strong’s first regular series role since his standout performance as Kendall Roy on Succession for four seasons. The series promises an intense and intriguing blend of historical drama and conspiracy, with Strong taking on a significant and complex character.

The original 1978 film starred Gregory Peck and Laurence Olivier, and it remains a classic thriller. With Morgan’s involvement and Strong leading the cast, this adaptation is already generating significant interest.
