Jon Bernthal, known for his standout roles in The Bear and Fury, is joining the star-studded cast of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film Odyssey. The film, set to release on July 17, 2026, is a mythic action epic that will be the first to bring Homer’s classic tale to IMAX screens. Bernthal is the latest addition to the impressive ensemble, which includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron.
The movie will focus on themes of bravery, loyalty, and heroism, drawing from Greek mythology. Production is set to begin in February, and it will mark Nolan’s second collaboration with Universal Studios. The studios are also touting the film’s innovative use of IMAX film technology to enhance the visual experience.
In addition to his role in Odyssey, Bernthal has some exciting projects on the horizon. He’ll be starring alongside Ben Affleck in The Accountant 2, due out on April 25. He’ll also be featured in the Netflix series adaptation of His & Hers later this year.
