Kanye West’s latest social media rant has reignited debates over his control in his relationship with Bianca Censori. Following their controversial appearance at the Grammys—where Censori wore a sheer dress that sparked widespread criticism—West took to X (formerly Twitter) to defend both himself and his wife’s fashion choices.
In all-caps posts, West admitted that while he doesn’t “make her do nothing she doesn’t want to,” he still has the final say: “She definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without my approval you stupid woke a* pawns.”*
The rapper dismissed accusations that Censori was being forced into provocative outfits, arguing that critics were simply jealous: “She’s with a billionaire why would she listen to any of you dumb a* broke btches.”
West’s comments follow reports that he had encouraged Censori to remove her coat on the red carpet, with a lip reader telling the Daily Mail that he told her to “make a scene.” Critics, including Elizabeth Chambers (Armie Hammer’s ex-wife), labeled his behavior as controlling, with Chambers calling it “misogyny at its finest.”
In response, West doubled down: “She been dressing naked for 2 year. Now all of a sudden it’s a stunt.” He insisted that he supports Censori’s self-expression and even claimed that “every single btch on the planet wish they had… a husband that supported they personal expression.”*
West also revealed that he fired and blocked an employee who was uncomfortable with Censori’s Grammys outfit, further fueling concerns about his influence over her.
Meanwhile, Censori herself has remained silent, while her mother, Alexandra Censori, declined to comment when reached by the Daily Mail.
Public figures like Meghan McCain and Alyssa Farrah Griffin have weighed in, with McCain going as far as to describe Censori as a “hostage and victim.” As the backlash continues, many are questioning whether Censori’s fashion choices are truly her own—or if they’re another extension of West’s notorious need for control.
